G-Power BMW X6 M Typhoon with 750 HP Unveiled

G-Power, a popular German tuner, has just unveiled their latest work: a Typhoon wide body kit for the 2016 BMW X6 M. The tuner has already used the Typhoon name for the E71 X6 M projects in the past. It is known to mean a drastic change in design and a power upgrade.

For this latest project, G-Power unveiled a revised version of the S63 engine. The 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo mill can now send 575 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque to all four corners of the car in stock form. Though that’s already quite impressive, G-Power amped it up and claims to have an output of up to 750 HP and 980 Nm (723 lb-ft) of torque. Now that’s a supercar!

The modifications for the external design of the Typhoon wide body kit is comprised of muscular wheel arch flares that extend the width of the X6 M by several centimeters, a new front bumper with larger air vents that deliver 20 percent more air to the upgraded coolers, while the spoiler element reduces lift over the front axle. New side skirts and 102 millimeter tailpipes complete the look.

What sets it apart is the ‘Venturi’ bonnet that has big air scoops that actually bulges. These air scoops actually work together with the front bumper intakes to create a ‘dynamic venting’ system – the increased under bonnet cooling airflow speeds up hot air extraction.

The development process took 12 months to complete. G-Power wanted to make sure that the looks of the car would meet the demands of enthusiasts while also providing unbelievable performance.

Thanks to the decision of replacing the stock turbochargers with bigger ones, changing the exhaust system and the ECU map, the car is able to deliver great performance plus long term reliability. No 0-60 mph sprint numbers have been revealed.
