G-Power has now released their tuned M5 CS, following in the footsteps of Manhart’s 635-horsepower BMW X4 M Competition. It has a significantly improved V8 engine allows it to compete with genuine supercars. The S63B44T4’s 4.4-litre twin-turbo unit has been upgraded with new forged pistons, connecting rods, and a remapped electronic control unit.
The German tuners didn’t stop there; they also fitted larger turbos with CNC-milled turbine and compressor housings and optimised turbine blades. Air coolers designed in CAD and a modified quad exhaust system finish the mechanical upgrades. Naturally, new software had to be built to make all these adjustments function in tandem. The outcome is remarkable, as G-Power has extracted an incredible 900 horsepower and 1,050 Newton-meters (772 pound-feet) of torque. BMW brags a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of three seconds for the M5 CS, thanks to the significant increase in output.
G-Power increased the super sedan’s top speed to 207 mph (333 km/h). The standard model is electronically limited to 189 mph (305 km/h). The M5 CS has undergone more than just a superficial facelift; the V8 engine has been significantly revised. A set of the tuner’s 21-inch wheels with gold and bronze accents, a carbon fibre spoiler for the trunk, and a carbon fibre ventilated hood are all included.
G-Power offers four different power levels for the ultimate M5 tuning kit, from 700 hp to 750 hp to 800 hp to 840 hp, in case the G5M CS HURRICANE RR is too much for you. Given that the M5 CS was produced for only one production year, the tuner caters to a niche market. Since plug-in hybrid power has already been confirmed for the next-generation M5, the Competition Sport is the last pure V8 breed.
