Spy photos of the upcoming G20-generation of 3 Series has been common in the past weeks. Everyone’s eyes are on the development of this new model because the current generation was generally the least-loved of the 3 series releases. BMW proves that they can actually redeem themselves with these recent spy photos of the G20 BMW 325e iPerformance. This car will be built on BMW’s new CLAR architecture that will allow it to have some interesting new powertrains like this plug-in hybrid one.
This prototype is heavily camouflaged so there’s not much to see in terms of design. It seems to have more angular headlights and larger kidney grilles, but BMW sure has some tricks up its sleeve that we are not seeing yet. The sweeping body line at the bottom of the front doors that sweeps upward as it moves toward the back is an interesting hint.
These photos definitely show a 3 Series hybrid because of the visible charge port on the front, driver’s side fender. There’s also the huge “Hybrid Test Vehicle†plaques on the body of the car.
This new 325e iPerformance is expected to offer very impressive fuel economy that beats the performance of the 330i, while being affordably priced. Let’s see if BMW can actually pull it off.
