During the Industry Pool at the Nurburgring, a 2019 G20 BMW M340i prototype was filmed. This model is the the next big thing for the 3 Series line up. This will be the range-topper until the new M3 arrives.
The G20 BMW M340i is expected to be powered by a single-turbo, twin-scroll, 3.0-liter straight-six delivering around 370hp. For the diesel fans, BMW will also have the M340d, delivering at least 320 hp. Regardless of fuel choice, customers should be able to choose between rear-weel-drive and all-paw xDrive versions.
The 2019 model year will see first CLAR architecture switch for the 3 Series lineup. Expect a lightweight car that uses CFRP (Carbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer) too even if it may be bigger in size.
