[Leaked] View of the BMW M2 front-end and mirrors!

Here’s a view of the BMW M2 front-end and mirrors, way before its April unveil! This rare glimpse of the upcoming BMW M2 Competition is giving away some key details of its new look. The leaked image came from Instagram, showing a Hockenheim Silver model with a mew front-end and the expected M side mirror. The leaked image also tells us that this car will have a wider front grille that sits closer to the outer edge of the headlights and painted in black. On the lower part of the bumper, there is a new design of the air curtains which means sharper angles and more sculpture for the overall design of the vehicle.

Previous reports say that the front grille will have a one piece design instead of the two separate kidneys and that it will be slightly wider than the current M2m which means it will have larger fenders. The interior is also slated to get M Sport Seats and small trim updates.

Production begins in July 2018. The legendary N55 3.0 liter TwinScroll six-cylinder in the current M2 will be replaced by a detuned S55 unit, with the same internal components as the one found in the M3 and M4, but with slightly less power – 405 hp. The engine will be mated to a 7-speed M-DCT transmission or a six-speed manual.

The M2 Competition will also introduce new colors to the lineup. One of them is Silver Hockenheim, while the other is a flashier one – Sunset Orange. It will also continue to be offered in Alpine White, Black Sapphire, Mineral Grey and Long Beach Blue Metallic.
