Mean-sounding 720 HP Stage 2 BR-Performance BMW X5 M

The new BMW X5 M and X6 M models were released with the most powerful production engine made by the German automaker. There’s also the M760Li xDrive model that came out to bring even more power on the line up. However, these are not yet the limit for these beasts. They can be more mean-sounding and powerful, just like this 720 HP Stage 2 BMW X5 M by BR-Performance.

In this short video published by BR-Performance on their Youtube channel, they showcase some of their newest tuning kits for the X5 M. They have a Stage 1 guise which was enhanced by a new ECU map and the S63 4.4-liter V8 twin-turbo engine. The result was an upgrade from the standard 575 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque to 680 HP and 850 Nm (627 lb-ft) of torque. There are not many hardware changes required on this one, and so it is not a very popular kit for the brand.

They have a Stage 2 upgrade though, and this is more powerful and mean-sounding. Improvements were new catbacks and catless downpipes for better air flow through the exhaust. The end result is a BMW X5 M that delivers 720 HP and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque – in true supercar fashion.

As evidenced in the video, the change of exhaust resulted to a different, meaner and louder sound than the standard. More optional features can also be purchased for those who want to customize more. This includes shutting down the automatic Start/Stop function, adding a switch inside the cabin to select an engine map, controlling the exhaust sound remotely to suit the driver’s particular mood, and more.
