New Trailer: BMW VISION NEXT 100 Concept

A new trailer is released by BMW to promote the exciting features of its future autonomous driving car: the BMW VISION NEXT 100. The futuristic concept was unveiled a few months ago and it is the inspiration for the iNEXT project that BMW is working on.

The development of the BMW VISION NEXT 100 is inspired by the German automaker’s desire to create a highly personalised autonomous car that is fully geared to meet every possible need of the driver who’ll use it.

All trends and technological advancements were taken into account in the design of the BMW VISION NEXT 100. They created a car that would highly likely exist in the future but greatly reminds the audience about the heritage of BMW.

Decades from now, the focus of cars will be the driver’s well-being. BMW predicts that consumers would not want a fully automated car. Rather, they would want a car that feels like it was specifically designed for them.

This particular video trailer highlights an innovation known as Alive Geometry. It is a three-dimensional sculpture that works both inside and outside the car. Alive Geometry is made up of around 800 moving triangles which are set into the instrument panel and into certain areas of the side panels. They work in three dimensions that allows it to communicate directly with the driver through their movements. Instead of showing two-dimensional displays like current cars, it uses gestures so that even the slightest peripheral movement is perceptible to the driver. Alive Geometry teams up with the Head-Up display to combine analogue with the digital.
