BMW M760Li xDrive had its premiere at the 2016 NYC Auto Show. Another important premiere happened at the same time – BMW unveiled the new ALPINA B7 Biturbo.
The M760Li is a specific model as it gets very close to M7 without completely abandoning the M division standards. As a part of the M Performance line, it’s considered to be a close competitor to the Mercedes S65 AMG.
The M760Li has pretty great specifications. With 600 HP and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque, combined with the xDrive all-wheel drive system and a revised version of the ubiquitous ZF 8-speed gearbox, the vehicle can hit 100 km/h in quick 3.9 seconds. Compared to S65 which goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds, with 577HP and 664 lb-ft of torque, it’s clear why they are considered such close competitors.
ALPINA can give you the original V8 sound if that’s what you want in a car. The latest edition comes with a 4.4 liter V8 TwinTurbo engine and has the same power as the M760Li.
Both of these mighty limousines can be seen at the New York Auto Show, but the true comparison will be done once they get on a race track side by side. Until then, you can enjoy the photos.
