Check out these photos of the BMW E46 M3 and BMW M2, captured by the beach of Antibes in the Cote d’Azur. The intriguing photoshoot of E30 M3 spiritual predecessors side by side shows how both cars are similar in size, shape, and look. BMW fans love both cars because they have very similar engine size, power, and weight too!
The BMW M2 is powered by a 3.0 liter turbocharged I6 engine that delivers 365 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. On the other hand, the E46 is powered by a 3.2 liter naturally-aspirated I6 engine, that delivers 333 hp and 262 lb-ft of torque.
Both cars actually weight around 3,400 lbs, give or take. Because of the options, the M2 has a better power-to-weight advantage. So the BMW M2 does differentiate itself by clocking in 0-60 mph in just 4.3 seconds with a manual transmission. The same sprint takes the E46 M3 4.7 seconds to complete.
