The next-gen BMW X5 was spotted on the Californian streets by Felipe Zarella, a reader of Autos Segredos. The new, fourth generation of the SUV is announced for 2020.
On the spy shots, the new X5 looks like it could be a bit smaller than the current model. Also, the front axle looks somewhat more inboard and closer to the dash than on the X5 we have now. It’s similar with the rear axle, at least as far as the pictures show.
The shorter and smaller future car might sound like an odd idea, but there is some logic behind it. As BMW started using the new Carbon Core technology, they are actually able to produce smaller cars with more space in the interior. If that happens, the next-gen BMW X5 will be comfier while also being easier to handle and park.
There’s no doubt this new X5 will be lighter, more comfortable, and have an upgraded tech side, following the new trends and standards of our time.
