The video below shows the BMW M4 GT4 doing some tests on the Nurburgring. The car will compete in various races next year.
The plan for it is to replace the BMW M3 GT4 for racing purposes. The M4 GT4 is currently undergoing performance tests and the final product should be significantly lighter thanks to the lightweight materials.
It will use the same 3.0-liter straight-six turbocharged engine, but the power output will be upgraded.
Jens Marquardt, the BMW Motorsport Director talked about the new model back in 2015:
The GT4 category is currently experiencing a boom. It offers affordable motorsport with cars of technical high-quality and, therefore, attracts a wide target audience. We see enormous potential around the world for privateer BMW teams for whom the BMW M4 GT4 is an option. The BMW M4 GT4 is designed perfectly for simple use by privateer teams.
The full spec list and price will be known by the beginning of 2017.
