Travis Kalanick, the Founder of Uber, is Driving a 1999 M3

When thinking about the wealthy and powerful people from the tech industry, we almost instinctively imagine them driving a fancy car like a Porsche, Ferrari, or Lamborghini. Other brands are considered only in case of a particularly modern and expensive car, such as the BMW i8. Still, there are some people that could afford much more, yet they opt for a 20 years old BMW M3.

One of them is the founder of Uber, Travis Kalanick. For his transportation needs, Kalanick uses the 1999 E36 M3. To be fair, he isn’t driving it at the moment, for at least two reasons: the car’s alternator doesn’t work and Kalanick’s licence has expired, but he’s not really showing interest in replacing his driving buddy with a newer, fancier model.

That’s pretty understandable for the founder of Uber, as he can call one of his service cars whenever he pleases.
