In one of the first automobile Twitter wars of the year, Audi trolls flooded BMW cars and implies that they can handle flooding.
The video that Audi used for this tweet was originally posted by ABC News. It was a footage from Burbank, California, where BMW cars were stuck in deep flood waters. The stuck cars had water up to the hood. However, a C6-generation Audi A6 drives through the flood and right past the BMWs with ease.
The news channel didn’t mean to trigger twitter wars with it, they just wanted to report the flooding. Nothing is funny with having your car in that situation but somehow Audi made it funny by adding “Wait for it. #Quattroâ€. Audi is implying that its Quattro all-wheel drive system was able to handle the flooding while BMW’s rear-wheel drive or xDrive cars couldn’t.
Honestly speaking, the type of car doesn’t matter here. It was just the flow of water and the issues faced by any car when submerged in water would generally be the same.
