In an effort to revamp their future car fleet, BMW is already making very bold decisions for their upcoming vehicles. In the last months, there’s this talk about the German Automaker planning to phase out the 6 Series family and replace it with a new 8 Series lineup. There are also rumors that BMW is working on a Porsche 911 competitor and this may be badged as a 6 Series car.
The new BMW 5 Series lineup will launch next year and rumor has it that we will be surprised. Sources say that the new G32 5 Series Gran Turismo may move up in class to be sold in the 6 Series line up. Moreover, it will be sold under the 6 Series GT badge. The new premium GT range would be from the 620d to 640d for diesels and 630i to 640i for petrol. A 640i xDrive model is the only one that will reach the U.S. soil at launch time.
There were already lots of talk about how good-looking this potential 6 Series GT will be. It is expected to be sleeker-looking with design cues from current BMW models. It is highly likely to feature headlights flowing into the kidney grille, a sporty character line across the side, and a sloping roof line that meets an modern boot design.
For the interior of this upcoming vehicle, its expected to remain sporty and classy, yet very luxurious. It will also have the new technologies found in higher-end models like the new 7 Series.
