[Video] 2017 BMW 530e Review by BMWBlog

BMWBlog flew to Germany to test the new 530e iPerformance with the beautiful German Alps in the background. Nonetheless, they were impressed by the car’s capabilities in this review. The car’s electric range is at 50 km or about 30 miles in pure electric. This range allows the driver to handle daily driving situations without even using petrol.

The power comes from a BMW eDrive technology complemented by an eDrive electric motor with a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter TwinPower Turbo combustion engine. The result is an exceptionally efficient and powerful plug-in hybrid drive system with an output of 248 hp and 310 lb-ft. of peak torque. 0 to 60 mph is achieved in 6.0 seconds and the BMW 530e xDrive iPerformance Sedan in 5.8 seconds.

The best part of the car according to BMWBlog is that it won’t let you feel that it is a hybrid. During the review, transitioning between the different power modes are so smooth. This plug-in hybrid drives like the other 5 Series cars and thats a nice feat for a hybrid.
