The new BMW F90 M5 is the first ever M car with all-wheel drive. In its standard guise, it has managed to outrun all of its traditional rivals, but how does it measure up to other cars in the market, such as the Tesla Model S P100D? On paper, there is a very stark contrast. The Tesla delivers 613 HP and 1,074 Nm (792 lb-ft) of torque, 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.5 seconds, in all-wheel drive. The M5 on the other hand delivers 600 HP and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque, and has a claimed acceleration time of 3.4 seconds.
