With the announcement of the new BMW 7 Series add-on, the Remote Parking, many people started having concerns about the safety of this automated parking tool.
Among many cool, futuristic features the 7 Series has is the Remote Parking. As you can assume, it helps you park your BMW into impossibly tight parking spaces with the help of the remote, so you don’t need the extra space to open the door and get out. It’s an optional add-on and if you want it, you can pay $250 to get a Display Key for one-click parking.
But is it safe enough? What happens if the car is in the middle of the parking process and someone walks by? There’s nobody in the vehicles to press the brakes after all.
If a similar thing happens, the car will detect an obstacle and stop immediately. You can even keep pressing the key, the car will not move until the obstacle is removed. See how it works in the video above.
