The BMW 545e is the newest 5 series hybrid plug-in and is very different due to what lies under the cap. The 545e uses a turbocharged inline-six-cylinder engine. It is coupled with an electric motor instead of a conventional four-cylinder integrated. Comes with an electric motor for a luxury plug-in. It is much better than the comparatively dull 530e, which uses a turbocharged engine. Not only is this big six heavier. It allows the 545e to generate a combined torque of 388 hours and 442 lbs. But it is faster, better sound, and is well suited to its eight-speed engine. This is potentially the most fun hybrid drive on the market.
