The BMW M2 is one of the best performing cars in the market today. How does it measure against the Porsche Macan Turbo? It is an odd pair to compare but you’ll be surprised with the results. Find out on this video:
Auto Express though of this crazy yet brilliant idea of comparing the BMW M2 with a Porsche SUV. There is absolutely no similarity between a rear-wheel drive sports car and a four-wheel drive SUV. However, if we look at who is fastest, well they are actually not unusual competitors on a straight line.
The BMW M2 is capable of 365 hp from its 3.0 liter turbocharged I6 engine. The Porsche Macan Turbo delivers 400 hp, thanks to its twin-turbocharged 3.0 liter V6 engine. Power is on the side of the Macan but weight is on the side of the M2. The former weights 450 kg more than the latter so there should really be no issue with the M2 having less ponies.
In the actual test, the BMW M2 performed really well, especially around the corners, and clocks in a lap time of 46.1 seconds. The Macan Turbo was surprisingly quick during its turn, but due to the weight, it only clocks in at 46.7 seconds.
The BMW M2 still wins this round.
