Nearly 68,000 BMW M cars were sold in 2016, including around 37,500 real M cars and 30,400 M Performance cars. This number represents a 9% growth over 2018 and the record for the BMW so far.
Let’s see what we might expect for the M Division in the future.
To begin with, we’ll see a couple more models. First of them will be the F90 M5 which is due later this year. The BMW M2 CS and M4 CS are also in the works. Some rumors say there will soon be an X3 M, M8, and X7 M. It’s possible there will also be some special editions such as the M4 GTS as well.
Along with the development of the batteries, more hybrid vehicles will become the reality. We’ll also see more autonomous functions. BMW explains they will be “useful to drivers when they don’t feel like driving“.
