BMW M Motorsport and iRacing are set to redefine virtual racing with an exciting partnership for the 2025 season. As the “Official Safety Car Partner,” BMW M Motorsport will introduce the BMW M2 CS Racing as the lead car for some of the most iconic events on the iRacing platform. This marks a unique collaboration that bridges the gap between real-world motorsport and its highly realistic virtual counterpart.

Since its release, the BMW M2 CS Racing, a well-loved entry-level model in iRacing, will now take on an even more prominent role. Adorned with a striking safety car design and roof beam, it will guide drivers through formation laps at marquee events like the 24 Hours of Daytona, the Nürburgring 24 Hours, and Petit Le Mans. This partnership not only elevates the experience for participants but also underscores BMW’s long-standing commitment to innovation in both real and simulated motorsport.
BMW M Motorsport’s Project Lead for Automotive Gaming, Timo Brückner, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, noting that these Special Events draw massive participation. With the BMW M2 CS Racing leading the charge, racers will experience a blend of realism and excitement that mirrors professional motorsport. The car also serves as an ideal stepping stone for players aspiring to master BMW’s other virtual models, such as the BMW M4 GT4, M4 GT3, and M Hybrid V8.
Tony Gardner, President of iRacing, shared his enthusiasm for the partnership, pointing out that BMW’s involvement enhances the racing experience for the platform’s nearly 300,000 members. The collaboration not only cements BMW’s influence in the world of sim racing but also sets the stage for thrilling events like the upcoming iRacing Daytona 24 powered by VCO in January.
BMW M Motorsport’s history of providing safety cars for MotoGP™ since 1999 adds depth to this venture. Bringing this tradition to virtual racing signifies another milestone in BMW’s legacy, showcasing how the brand innovates and inspires across both physical and digital arenas.
