BMW continues to keep its fans on their toes. The German carmaker is busy with various reveals. Today, they gave us new BMW M4 GT4 teaser days before its debut.
Recently, BMW had numerous reveals for their road car division. And they are not leaving their racing branch aside. For example, BMW Motorsport has recently revealed the M Hybrid V8. Now, the luxury carmaker is gearing up for the debut of the BMW M4 GT4 on June 17.
The new BMW M4 GT4 teaser gives a sneak peek of its aggressive face. It also shows an outline of its cage and the large rear wing. This new racing car will line up between the entry-level M2 CS Racing and the M4 GT3.
It will arrive at the Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia. An official reveal will happen during the 2022 SRO Americas Championship. The event will start on June 17 and will last until the 19th.
BMW will hold a full technical briefing to keep enthusiasts interested in the new race car. The M4 GT4 is based on the road-legal M4. It also borrowed some upgrades from the GT3-spec model. One of these upgrades is the carbon-fiber roof and wing. BMW Motorsport will provide the track-only machine with fresh features not yet offered before. These features are in addition to the improved Recaro seats.
The inline-six engine, transmission, and electronics are the same as the M4 road version. This will enable racing teams in lowering their operating costs. Moreover, the GT4 will use natural fibers to support sustainability in the motorsport division. These natural fibers will replace some of the car’s plastic and carbon fiber parts. Of course, these changes do not affect the race car’s performance.
In the meantime, this new teaser is enough to excite fans for the grand reveal. Tune in for its world premiere on June 17.
