2011 BMW 520d Touring orders will take 3 Months Wait Time

The introduction of 4-cylinder engines in the new BMW 5 Series lineup will start with its star: the 520d Touring.

The BMW 520d Touring is built on the F11 platform and uses a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder common rail turbo diesel engine capable of 184 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque –excellent for efficient fuel consumption. The standard fuel consumption of this vehicle is just 5.1 liters of diesel per 100 km. CO2 emissions are also down to 135 grams per kilometer.

Aside from its fuel efficiency, it also comes in the most affordable price tag in the 5 Series fleet. The BMW 520d Touring sells for only 42,600 euros in Germany. Excellent price for an efficient vehicle capable of carrying 5 people and up to 1670 liter of cargo space.

BMW AG Corporate Communications spokesperson Markus Sagemann confirmed that the wait times are as long as three months from the moment an order for the BMW 520d Touring is placed. Sagemann said, “the new 5 Series Touring has been received very positively both by the media and by our customers. As the current 5 Series Touring, the new car will probably be mainly sold in Europe. After ordering European customers of the new 5 Series Touring currently will have to wait around three months for delivery.”
