2011 World Green Car of the Year nominees announced

The nominees of the 2011 World Car of the Year Awards has just been announced. There will be six candidates competing for the greenest car in the world.

Here are the list of nominees:
* BMW 320d Efficient Dynamics Edition
* Chevrolet Volt
* Hyundai Sonata Hybrid
* Mercedes-Benz B-Class F-Cell
* Nissan LEAF
* smart electric drive
The World Green Car award is given by Bridgestone Corporation based in Japan. The BMW 320d EfficientDynamics Edition gets a well-deserved nomination. Built for the European market, the BMW 320d EfficientDynamics vehicle delivers an impressive 68.9 mpg, or 4.1 liter/100km, 163 horsepower, 380 Nm of torque, and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.2 seconds.
