The base price of the new 2012 BMW 650i Convertible was announced at the 2011 Detroit Motor Show and beginning this spring: USD90,500. In standard configuration, the 4.4 liter twin-turbo charged V-8 engine producing 400 hp and 450 lbs-ft of torque is matted to a 6-speed manual transmission. An 8-speed sport automatic transmission is available also. Compared to its predecessor, this new BMW convertible features 20-way Multi-contour seats, Nappa Leather, Comfort Access, Rear-view Camera, LED fog lights, Driving Dynamics Control which allows the driver to choose the way the vehicle responds via 4 modes – COMFORT, NORMAL, SPORT, SPORT+, and 19″ Wheels. There are four packages offered with the 2012 BMW 650i Convertible. The USD750 Cold Weather Package includes a ski bag, heated front seats and steering wheel. The USD1,500 Luxury Seating Package has ventilated front seats. The USD3,900 Driver Assistance Package includes Parking assistant, Head Up, Surround view camera, Automatic high beams, Lane departure warning, Active blind spot detection. The USD1,800 Premium Sound Package HAS Premium hi-fi, Satellite Radio, and USB.
The 2012 BMW 650i Convertible will start production in March 2011 and launch in May.
