Bimmerpost renders the 2016 BMW M2 with a rear wing and a carbon fiber front lip. The overall weight plans ask for a limited of 1530 kg, lighter than the current M235i. It features a carbon fiber strut brace within the engine bay and composite plastic panels.
It expected to have an updated version of the N55 TwinPower 3.0 liter engine (N55B30T0) with 370 horsepower in both manual and automatic transmissions. The power output suggests a 0 to 62 mph time of 4.4 seconds with the DCT, 0.5 seconds faster than the 1M Coupe.
BMW is also rumored to consider an xDrive version of the M2 Coupe in selected markets. An M2 Convertible will also be launched in 2016.
