2022 BMW X6: What are the changes?

Many car enthusiasts love the BMW X6. In fact, the X6 sells like crazy, especially in the US despite the changes to the model for 2022. BMW has added and removed specific options from the X6 depending on how well customers have received it. In order to increase profitability while giving customers what they want, some packages and options have had to be moved.

Most of the BMW X6’s are still on the market. Only the rear-wheel drive X6 sDrive40i is left, and it did not sell well. Who would want to buy a car like the rear-wheel drive X6 as an entry-level model? The X6 xDrive40i, the X6 M50i and the X6 M are still available, just like the rest of the model range.

Except for the rear-wheel-drive X6 sDrive40i, BMW has reduced the number of standard features. However, there are added fewer optional extras to the package. Firstly, wireless charging is no longer integrated on most smartphones. BMW added a Shadowline package with an illuminated kidney grille and extended Shadowline trim to compensate for some omitted options. The four-zone automatic climate control is also back. All X6s are equipped with Qualcomm’s enhanced Bluetooth technology.

Nothing has changed in the interior options, which include glass controls. However, Sparkling Brown Metallic and Davit Grey Metallic are now two other colour tones available for the model. The BMW X6 M receives most of the same updates as the standard model but with M-specific additions. For example, the Competition Package now includes the M Shadowline Lights. The adaptive headlights LED with laser light, however are not in the Executive Package. Another complementary option was the addition of M Compound brakes with red callipers. The interior was finished in Silverstone Extended Merino leather, and Davit Grey Metallic was added to the exterior paint.
