After more than 40 years of existence, BMW’s M division is starting to lose admirers. Critics think that this classic motorsport division doesn’t have the edge it was famous for anymore. BMW has plans to get back on the track by launching BMW M2 and MBW M4 GTS in the US next month.

While the M2 might not be the most powerful machine of all time, everyone who drove it agrees the car has a soul. Unlike the modern M3 and M4, BMW M2 will move you emotionally and create that special feeling that many of the new cars have lost. If it could be described in one word, that word wouldn’t be power, or speed, or anything similar – it would be fun.

On the other hand, there is an M4 GTS, a truly powerful vehicle that won’t leave anyone indifferent. It is a true monster with impeccable technology. Just some facts: it uses the M4’s 3.0 liter turbocharged I6 engine, develops 493 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque. The water-injection technology allows the M4 to gain more power and to achieve turbo boost, as it keeps the engine at a reasonable temperature.

As cool as it may be, water-injection is just a tiny part of the features this monster car has. Plenty of bigger and smaller details are created specifically to bring the racing potential to the max.

There’s no fear of BMW giving up on the M Division. The new surprises are yet to come, and at the moment we have these two releases to look forward in April.
