BMW announced today in a press release that there will be a major change for the top management team in North America. Bernhard Kuhnt has just been appointed as CEO of BMW of North America effective March 1. He will be replacing Ludwig Willisch who is now moving on as the head of BMW Group Region Americas. Kuhnt will be reporting to Willisch, together with all the operating heads of all BMW sales subsidiaries in North, Central and South America.
Kuhnt, 49, will be responsible for the American market. Before being appointed as CEO, he was responsible for the BMW Group importer markets, overseeing sales in more than 80 countries.
“I am delighted to welcome Bernhard Kuhnt to our Americas team,†Willisch said in the statement. “Bernhard brings many years of experience in the global automotive industry to his new role here in the United States. “
