As part of BMW’s 100th year founding anniversary celebration, the automaker will be present at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed as the Central Feature Marque. They will showcase the diversity of the BMW brand at the world’s most prestigious motoring festival. This is a great opportunity for motoring fans to see how BMW cars have evolved through the years. The presentation will include BMW cars of the past and present, and also Rolls-Royce, Mini and BMW Motorrad.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed’s theme this year is ‘Full Throttle – The Endless Pursuit of Power’. The wide success of BMW in motorsport will be celebrated. The star of the showcase is the legendary BMW 328 Mille Miglia Roadster. The Brabham-BMW BT52 designed by Gordon Murray and the BMW V12 LMR which won Le Mans will also be displayed.
For Goodwood’s famous 1.16-mile course, BMW has prepared nothing but the best and most beautiful. A 1957 BMW 507, 1940 BMW 328 Touring Coupé Mille Miglia winner, and a 1965 BMW 1800 TiSA will race the mile  – a great testament to the success of BMW in touring car racing. For motorbike enthusiasts, there will be a range of classic and modern bikes that will definitely strike your fancy: 1966 BMW R50 S Kaczor, a 1976 BMW R90 S 76 and legendary WR 750 Kompressor from 1929.
BMW has a lot in store for the Goodwood Festival of Speed’s visitors. BMW Motorsport GmbH will be represented by the BMW M4 GTS – first seen at Goodwood. The BMW M2 will also be showcased together with the M cars of the past 40 years. The special edition BMW i8 Protonic Red Edition will also be on display with other recent models of the automaker. It will truly be a showcase of then and now.
The Goodwood Festival of Speed will happen on June 23-26, 2016. A press day will be held on June 23.
