BMW 218d xDrive Gran Tourer adds more versatility to the front-wheel drive offerings

A second all-wheel-drive model will underline the versatility of the BMW 2 Series Gran Tourer from March 2016. The BMW 220d xDrive Gran Tourer will be joined in the line-up by the BMW 218d xDrive Gran Tourer.

The intelligent all-wheel-drive system transfers the power developed by the latter’s 110 kW/150 hp four-cylinder diesel engine to the front and rear wheels, as required.

The BMW 218d xDrive Gran Tourer comes as standard with a six- speed manual gearbox, but can also be ordered as an option with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.9 seconds (automatic: 9.1 seconds).

Its average fuel consumption is between 5.2 and 4.9 liters (5.1 –4.7 liters) per 100 kilometers / 54.3 – 57.7 mpg imp (55.4 – 60.1 mpg imp), while CO2 emissions are 136 – 128 grams per kilometer (133 – 124 g/km; figures according to EU test cycle, may vary depending on the tire format specified).
