Making its world premiere today is BMW’s 3 Series Gran Turismo facelift version. The German automaker is putting this forward in their biggest sales markets: China, Germany and North America. This particular facelifted version takes the elegant design and sporty accents of the first generation and adds new features for a refreshed look.
The updated design includes standard-fitted LED headlights, LED front fog lamps, updated LED rear lights, more zestful lines, and a broader stance.
The interior is an image of sophistication. It has extra chrome around the interior controls, new decorative wood elements, colors and leather trim variants, and enhanced ergonomic attributes. It will also get the latest version of the BMW Navigation system Professional – the first time it will be put on a mid-sized model. Convenient smartphone linking and charging is provided through the car’s wireless inductive tray.
The range of engines available for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo includes three all-new petrol units developing 184 hp to 326 hp and five diesel variants producing 150 hp to 313 hp – with classical rear- wheel drive or BMW xDrive all-wheel drive, with manual or Steptronic automatic transmission. An all-new addition to the diesel ranks is the BMW 325d Gran Turismo. All engines offer significant efficiency gains.
Thanks to the improved manual and automatic transmissions, the Auto Start Stop function, Brake Energy Regeneration, on-demand operation of ancillary units and the ECO PRO mode, this particular model is setting the benchmark in terms of fuel economy and emissions.
Customers can choose from the BMW 320i Gran Turismo, 318d Gran Turismo and 320d Gran Turismo in six-speed manual gearboxes or an eight-speed Steptronic automatic transmission. All petrol-powered BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo facelift variants and the diesel-powered BMW 320d Gran Turismo and BMW 330d Gran Turismo can be specified as an option with BMW xDrive. The BMW 335d xDrive Gran Turismo has this all-wheel- drive technology as standard.
In total, there are 18 engines, transmissions and drive configurations available for the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo. Customers can also choose among the Sport Line, Luxury Line and M Sport variants, with the Estoril Blue color exclusively available for M Sport models.
