BMW 530Le plug-in hybrid spotted in China

The photo below shows a BMW 530Le plug-in hybrid based on the long wheelbase 5 Series which is manufactured in China in partnership with Brilliance. This new BMW variant was made exclusively for the Chinese market was spotted while charging close to where the BMW factory there. The vehicle is powered by a combination of a four-cylinder IC engine and a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and an electric motor. The overall power output is around 272 horsepower. The rumored launch date of the BMW 530Le in Beijing is July 2014.
