BMW ActiveE All Electric 1 Series Production model spotted

The all-electric BMW Concept ActiveE 1 Series production model has been spotted for the very first time at a commercial photo shoot. This vehicle is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor capable of 170 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, which launches the ActiveE from 0-60 in 8.5 seconds. Top speed is at 90mph. The driving range is expected to be about 100 mile per charge.

Based on this photo, we can see that the production ActiveE features differs from the concept version we have already seen before. It has conventional wheels and tires, a different front bumper, a new hood with a bump, new headlight design, and “E Drive” badges.

The upcoming lifecycle changes for the 1 Series models are also previewed here with the appearance of new rear and front headlight lenses with LED technology and redesigned aerodynamics in the bumpers.

The all-electric BMW Concept ActiveE 1 Series will be introduced in selected markets first for testing. The chosen places are New York, Southern California, Northern California and Boston USA.
