SINGAPORE (Dow Jones)–German car maker BMW AG (BMW.XE) expects sales in Asia, in terms of cars sold, to grow by a double digit percentage in 2006, Chairman Helmut Panke said Thursday.
“We expect to grow by double digits this year to meet our (annual) sales target of 150,000 automobiles in Asia by 2008,” Panke said at a briefing in Singapore.
Last year was another record year in sales for BMW in Asia.
Total regional sales of its BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce cars grew 16.9% on-year to 111,571 vehicles in 2005 from 95,482 in 2004.
