BMW expects 75% first time BMW owners to buy Active Tourer

In an interview with Automotive News Europe, BMW head of product management for front-wheel drive vehicles, Frank Niederlaender, said that they estimate around 75 percent of BMW 2 Series Active Tourer customers will be first-time BMW buyers.

“We are expecting the Active Tourer will have a conquest rate of around 75 percent,” said Niederlaender.

The target market for BMW’s first minivan and front-wheel drive vehicle will be younger families, who BMW predicts to be loyal customers of the brand as they get older. BMW also forecasts demand for luxury compact cars like the Active Tourer will grow faster over the next 10 years than for the overall premium market.
