BMW Goal: 2 Million Annual Sales by 2016 & 2.5 Million by 2020

Automotive News reports that BMW aims to sell 2 million cars annually by 2016 and increase that goal even more to 2.5 million vehicles by 2020. This information was taken from the Manager Magazin, a German publication. Looking at the annual sales of BMW last year, these numbers do not seem impossible. In 2010 alone, BMW was able to sell a total of 1.46 million vehicles. If the growth of the sales continues, the 2 million mark can be achieved. BMW plans to continue their high sales by introducing new and better models to the market. This includes a new range of small cars, including those with front wheel drive technologies, and also an active involvement in terms of producing high performance electric vehicles. The BMW i3 and i8 under the Project i umbrella are good examples. Production capacity will also be increased by investing more on manufacturing plants in Europe, Mexico, America, South Africa, Russia and Brazil. BMW indeed knows how to dream high.
