BMW Green Lead: 2 Billion Euros ahead of Daimler

BMW’s German rival is lagging behind them in terms of green developments. With BMW’s excellent work on decreasing C02 emissions, their lead is estimated to be around 2 billion euros according to Morgan Stanley auto analyst Stuart Pearson.  This is very significant in terms of the competition in the European area.

According to the same analysis, the lead will greatly affect the overall lead of BMW against Daimler. It will result to improved pricing and better technology that most consumers prefer. BMW will also get to avoid the strict fines imposed by the European Union for automakers that will not meet the decreased C02 standards year after year.

The BMW Group had average CO2 emissions of 147.9 grams per kilometer in 2010. Daimler just finished at an average of 163.3g/km.
