BMW Group Asia appoints new senior executives

  • Mr. Ramesh Divyanathan appointed as Director of Sales Channel Development and Customer Relations of BMW Group Asia.
  • Ms. Karen Lim takes over as Managing Director of BMW Group Indonesia.
  • Mr. Clarence Chua appointed as Director of Finance of BMW Group Asia.

Singapore. BMW Group Asia will appoint new directors to head its various departments and the region. The new appointments will concurrently take place from 1 August 2014.

Ramesh Divyanathan (47) will be assuming a new role as Director of Sales Channel Development and Customer Relations of BMW Group Asia. Mr. Divyanathan has joined BMW Group Asia since 1995. During his tenure, he has served in many key roles in the Marketing and Corporate Communications functions at both BMW Group Asia and BMW AG. His last held position is the Managing Director of BMW Group Indonesia, a role which he assumed in August 2009. The position of Managing Director of BMW Group Indonesia will be taken over by Ms. Karen Lim.

Karen Lim (43), who has been the Director of Finance of BMW Group Asia since 2005, will transfer to Indonesia to take over the position of Managing Director of BMW Group Indonesia. Ms. Lim first joined BMW Group Asia in 1998 and had served in various roles pertaining to the Finance, Accounting, as well as Human Resource functions. The position of Director of Finance of BMW Group Asia will be taken over by Mr. Clarence Chua.

Clarence Chua (43), who is currently the Director of Finance of BMW Indonesia, will take over as the Director of Finance of BMW Group Asia, based in Singapore. Mr. Chua first joined the BMW Group in 2002 and had previously held various positions in Finance, Taxation and Controlling functions at BMW Group Malaysia and BMW Group Australia, before moving to his current role at BMW Group Indonesia. Mr. Chua’s successor will be announced in due course.

As part of our new organisational structure, the new Sales Channel Development and Customer Relations function serves to strengthen our retail network and to enhance our customers’ experience by bringing the ‘customers’ voice’ closer to the management of BMW Group Asia. This will be done through emphasizing on all aspects of customer ‘contact-points’, ranging from the look and feel of our showroom and facilities to the way in which they are being served, all in the most efficient and effective manner possible,” Mr. Sergio Solero, Managing Director of BMW Group Asia.

“The management reshuffle will most definitely bring about greater synergy and efficiency in our BMW Group Asia region, and provide us with an opportunity to further develop our key executives in inter-disciplinary and inter-cultural management skills.”

BMW Group Asia currently comprises 14 markets, including Singapore, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Mongolia, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Guam, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.
