BMW Group Asia: breaks all-time sales record in 2013

BMW Group Asia reported a total sales of 11,008 units of BMW and MINI vehicles.

Singapore. BMW Group Asia has concluded 2013 with a new record, reporting a total sales of 11,008 units of BMW and MINI vehicles (+9.0% compared to 2012) in its East Asia region comprising of 14 markets, including; Singapore, Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Brunei, Bangladesh, Guam, Mongolia, New Caledonia, Tahiti, Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar.

Sales of BMW vehicles in the East Asia region has increased by 8.7% in 2013 to reach 9,918 units (prev. yr 9,128 units), while MINI achieved a remarkable 12.6% increase with total sales of 1,090 units (prev. yr 968 units).

Mr. Sergio Solero, the newly appointed Managing Director of BMW Group Asia said, “Strong regional demand for our BMW and MINI products drove sales to an all-time high in 2013. While Indonesia, Vietnam, Brunei and Sri Lanka experienced strong growth, new emerging markets such as Cambodia, Laos and Myanmar recently joined our BMW Group Asia network and started their operations for the BMW brand. Conditions remain challenging for some markets like Singapore, Philippines and Bangladesh due to varying local market conditions.”

“2014 will be an exciting year for BMW Group Asia. We plan to extend our network in a number of key cities in Indonesia, Vietnam, Philippines and Myanmar to serve our customers more efficiently and effectively. A number of new products will be introduced in the region, including the all-new BMW X5, the BMW 2 Series Coupé, the BMW 4 Series Convertible and the new MINI. As for the high-performance models, BMW M3 Saloon and BMW M4 Coupé will soon arrive our region. In addition, the Future of Mobility – BMW i – will be introduced in Singapore,” concluded Mr Solero.
