BMW M Hybrid V8 Is Finally Revealed

Just last year, BMW announced its presence in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship. And they promised to bring a hybrid powertrain. Finally, the luxury carmaker has revealed the BMW M Hybrid V8.

The German automaker said it would join the LMDh car class. Ever since this announcement, fans have been excited to see the LMDh prototype car. However, BMW has kept the racing car in secret. But now, it is finally revealed: the BMW M Hybrid V8.

Indeed, a proper LMDh prototype is an aggressive thing to behold. BMW packed it with BMW Roundels, BMW livery, and a flipping kidney grille. Basically, the M Hybrid V8 does not carry a grille. But it has one for aerodynamics, which makes it an adequate addition.

Not to mention, the LMDh prototype racing car looks amazing. Its “50 Jahre” badges and M-colored camouflage livery complete its awesome visual. It is, of course, a unique-looking prototype race car. But what’s interesting is that it still embodies the BMW look.

BMW M Ceo Frank Van Meel noted that “The most critical task and the greatest challenge for the design team in the LMDh program design team were that the prototype must be clearly recognizable as a BMW M Motorsport car. And I can say this to all the fans, just one look is enough to confirm that the BMW M Hybrid V8 is a BMW. It clearly carries the genes of BMW M. I also love the camouflage livery with its references to the great history of the brand in North America. Congratulations to the design and aerodynamics departments at BMW M Motorsport and Dallara on their great work. I can hardly wait to see the BMW M Hybrid V8 on the track soon.”
