After the much awaited reveal of the BMW M4 CS, audience are now clamoring to see the BMW M2 CS. Here is a footage of what seems to be an M2 CS doing test rounds in the Nurburgring.
The spotting of this prototype showing a new layout is a good indicator that we’re finally getting closer to its release. The front end is camouflaged together with the taillights. This is a usual indication of a facelifted version, in this case, of the M2. Rumor has it that the facelift BMW will give the M2 will be very subtle. The only visual changes being a new set of headlights and new taillights.
However, this video reveals that the car seems to be sporting a different engine under the hood. It can be a downgraded version of the S55 engine found on the standard M3 and M4 models, instead of the N55 unit of the stock M2. It will have more power and improved suspension.
The BMW M2 CS is likely to be sold as a 2019 model year, with sales kicking off in the second half of 2018. For the mean time, test rounds will continue.
