Autoblog, a U.S. publication, says that the new BMW M4 might just scrap the the manual transmission and stick with the 7-Speed DCT as the only option for consumers. The sources have not been mentioned by the said publication so this information is just a plain rumor for now. Removing the manual transmission will save BMW a lot of money and time in research and development but purists will be disappointed if this is true because the manual transmission has been considered as the heart of the Ultimate Driving Machine. However, there are also other sources saying that the manual transmission is still a part of BMW’s plan for the M4. Stay tuned for more updates.
