BMW M6 GT3 will take the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps

After claiming its triumph at the Nurburgring 24 Hours, BMW M6 GT3 will take the 24 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. This weekend, the super race car will take the second main endurance highlight of the season.

Walkenhorst motorsports carry loads of confidence and firm goals of winning the race to Belgium. The team sets their eyes on another podium end after snatching the victory last 2018 for the Spa classic. Only top notcher GT drivers were sent behind the wheels. Also, an anticipated head-turner, the Boutsen Ginion BMW M6 GT3 will take the Pro-Am class. Designed by artist Peter Halley, it will expect lots of attention.

Augusto Farfus (BRA) and Nick Catsburg (NED), winners of the 8 Hours Indianapolis, will race the #34 Walkenhorst Motorsport BMW M6 GT3. Phillip Eng (AUT) from BMW works with two wins a Spa under his belt will join them. David Pittard (GBR) and Martin Tomczyk (GER) takes the wheel of #35 BMW M6 GT3. Joining them is Nick Yelloly (GBR) who won the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

BMW Group Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt expressed his excitement for the race. He noted how the BMW M6 GT3s racing at various rings highlights the GT moments. As his last major endurance race in this position, he looks forward to M6 GT3’s win on Saturday. Marquardt also hopes to celebrate with the team one last time in his last major race as a director.

Also, this major race is also the third of four races for Walkenhorst Motorsport in the Intercontinental GT Challenge. Therefore, this serves as a turning point for competing drivers. For Catsburg and Farfus, this race might lead them to first place in the Drivers’ Championship. Pittard, Tomczyk, and Yelloly now in the third-place, might also jump to a higher position.

Further, the Boutsen Ginion BMW M6 GT3 will show-off at the Pro-Am class. American artist Peter Halley designed the car’s colorful exterior as inspired by the known BMW Art Cars. Surely, it will gather a lot of attention from the crowd. Karim Ojjeh (KSA), Gilles Vannelet (FRA), Benjamin Lessennes (BEL) will take its wheel. Jens Klingmann (GER) from BMW works will also join them.
