BMW Nazca M12: Best Concept Cars of the ’90s

BMW has a track record of making unbelievably eye-catching concept cars. Cars that excite their enthusiasts’ imagination, only to let those ideas die before ever making it to the production floor. Despite the brand’s capacity of teasing us with designs that will never exist, fans still love almost every Bavarian concept car they’ve made. However, there are many standouts, ideas that BMW fans wish the brand would have made. One such vehicle is the BMW Nazca M12, which has just been called one.

BMW Nazca M12

In 1991, the BMW of Nazca M12, designed for a very light, unconditionally aerodynamic hypercar, was built by Giorgetto Giugiaro’s son Fabrizio. Something that could bring down the Ferrari F40. It weighed just about 1,100 kg and had the same 5.0 liter V12 as the BMW 850i, making 300 horsepower. The lightweight body of the Nazca M12 also had a drag coefficient of 0.26. Which was considered remarkable in the early ’90s. Most of the moderators with sophisticated technologies and wind tunnel research.

BMW has never sold the Nazca M12. It is a disappointment as it is still one of the best cars in today’s brand’s history. According to TG, however, there is a story that Giugiaro’s Italdesign was paid enough money by the Sultan of Brunei for one. If that’s true, we don’t know, but if it were, we’d like to know how much he’d offered it.

BMW Nazca M12 - 1

The BMW Nazca M12 was an impressive look, with its gentle nineties theme, huge mirrors, and small kidney grilles at the side of bug antennae. The solution for cars like the Bugatti EB110 was both the spiritual successor of the BMW M1. We want the Nazca to be released, but we are not entirely shocked that it has never been. However, it’s one of BMW’s coolest concept cars.
