BMW recalls 198,000 cars to fix brake leaks

The recall of 198,000 vehicles by BMW of North America is now official. This recall is due to the leaks that can potentially develop in the power-braking system. In an official release, BMW NA has confirmed that this will include 2002 to 2010 V-8 and V-12 powered models of the 5 Series, 6 Series, and 7 Series. Rolls-Royce Phantoms produced between 2003-2010 are also included in the recall.

BMW needs to fix these leaks because it can reduce the effectiveness of the power brakes. However, there are no accidents and injuries that have been reported yet. In case of emergency, mechanical braking is still available to slow and stop the affected vehicles.
