BMW recalls 5 Series GTs in China due to fuel tank issue

BMW will recall imported BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo cars in China beginning this Friday, August 20, 2010. The said recall is due to problems with the fuel tank that can cause stalling, according to China’s product safety watchdog.

Good thing that this problem has not produced any accidents or casualties yet, as shown in the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine website.

The BMW 5 Series Gran Turismo cars that will be recalled are those produced between January 12 and June 30, 2010. BMW says that there are 5,308 units in China for recall.
