BMW Spain has announced a special edition car: the BMW M4 CS. The production will only be limited to 60 units – making it even more rare than the M4 GTS. What exactly makes this car special? Well, it is marketed as a cozier version of the BMW M4 GTS. It has rear seats that are designed for ultimate comfort for the passengers. However, there is more to this car than what meets the eye. It’s power is also worth noting.
Autoblog reports that the BMW M4 CS may just be more powerful than the GTS. It will be fitted with 20-inch wheels and an adaptive M chassis. The actual horsepower figure is yet to be announced but it is expected to be great. As far as we can tell, it may or may not be powered by the 493 horsepower water injection engine from the GTS.
Looking at these features, it actually sounds very similar to the Competition Package announced by BMW USA last January. The $5,500 package has similar features to the BMW M4Â CS, including a 425 to 444 hp power bump so there’s definitely a striking resemblance.
In the press material though, it is mentioned that the exterior elements will be made from carbon fiber. This only means that the CS will have a lower curb weight to be envied by the standard M4. The teaser photo also gives away that the CS will have the same rear wing as the GTS.
BMW Spain’s customers will also enjoy carbon ceramic brakes. Unfortunately, it can only be ordered with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. Nope. No manuals for this one. That’s where they may envy the US customers who can purchase these options with a manual M4, or even the four-door M3. Without the limited edition status, it will probably cost a lot cheaper in the US too!
