Yesterday we have reported that the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics will most likely be limited to just 5,000 to 10,000 models. It was also rumored last January that the BMW Vision Efficient Dynamics will be receiving the greenlight for production and will be launched in 2013. Today, these rumors were confirmed.

Auto Motor Und Sport, a German magazine, reports that BMW insiders have confirmed that the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics vehicle has indeed received the greenlight for production. The production will be held at the BMW Leipzig plant. The same magazine reported that this car will be powered by a combustion engine.

The hybrid version of the BMW Vision EfficientDynamics using a three-cylinder 1.5 liter engine, aided by two electric motors will follow after 2013. This version will be capable of 356 horsepower, and 590 lb-ft peak torque.
