The Future Mobility event in Leipzig was a venue for BMW to lay out their plans for the Vision Efficient Dynamics Concept. Automobilwoche reports that the Vision EfficientDynamics Concept will be joining the Megacity vehicles in the production line at BMW’s Leipzig plant.

In line with this, the Leipzig plant will be expanded and it will be the venue for BMW’s carbon fiber vehicles. Since the new Vision Concept will feature a body that is primarily made from carbon fiber materials, it is but appropriate that it be manufactured in the Leipzig plant.

BMW’s first hybrid supercar will begin production in late 2013. Deliveries will start as early as 2014. BMW plans to sell around 1,000 units of the hybrid sports car in the first year of release in the market. Rumor has it that the Vision Concept will be marketed under a different brand, similar to the Megacity Vehicle. The name for this sub-brand will be decided next year.
